1:05 to 1:40 Presenter – Jackie Majoros, State Long Term Care Ombudsman
Ms. Majoros will discuss her work as the State Long Term Care Ombudsman, how she works to protect Vermont’s elders and vulnerable population from financial exploitation, and provide legislative updates.
Ms. Majoros has served as Vermont’s State Long Term Care Ombudsman (SLTCO) and Director of the Vermont Ombudsman Project at Vermont Legal Aid (VLA) since 1996. Prior to serving as SLTCO, Ms. Majoros was a staff attorney in the Senior Citizens Law Project of VLA. She represented individuals and groups on a wide range of issues in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies.
During her career at VLA she has also served on numerous work groups and legislative task forces and study committees. Currently, she is a member of the Vermont Health Care Innovation Project Steering Committee and Vermont’s Medicaid and Exchange Advisory Board where she represents the interests of individuals in need of LTSS as Vermont moves toward reforming its health care system.
